Bankroll Management and Cash vs GPP

Now we are almost halfway into the NBA season, and thats good for us.  The advanced metrics are beginning to add up now and the sample size has increased to the point where we can rely on our projections.  My cash game record over the past week was 4-2 (I took one of the small slates off) with one decent tournament cash.  Overall about 200 dollars in profit between the 7 sites that I play on.  I I have stressed before, to make a continuous profit off daily fantasy sports, besides being a winning player at least 56% of the time, bankroll management is key.  I learned this the hard way when I first got into DFS about a year ago, I started with $200 and lost it within about a week. Overall the first few months I lost more than a thousand dollars.  The growing pains were necessary for me, as I have now recouped those losses exponentially.  I had to learn Bankroll Management the hard way and my goal is to help you avoid some of the mistakes I made. The best tip I can give you for bankroll management with daily fantasy sports is to play only 10 to 20 percent of your bankroll on any given sport/slate per day.  This allows you to have a cold streak and still not have to put in any of your own money in order to recoup losses.  Of this 10 to 20 percent, you want to play 75 to 80 percent in cash games.  If you dont know what a cash game is you can read my explanation of cash games vs. GPPs at  my daily fantasy tips and strategies website. The other 20 to 25 percent is what I call upside money.  I use this to enter triple ups and quintuple ups, as well as single entry tournaments, and to throw a few random lineups trying to hit big in a gpp.  The idea behind this strategy is that you build a nice safe cash game lineup and as long as it cashes you can build your bankroll while still taking some shots in quintuple ups and gpp tournaments. I hope this has helped you out on your quest to make consistent money with Daily fantasy sports.  For more DFS strategy, daily plays, and tips follow me on Twitter or Facebook.
